Midfielder Thomas Kearney is a Catholic Youth player, having joined the first team at the age of 17 during the 2010/11 season.
However, in 2011 he attended university in Preston and struggled to return home to continue his football for the club. During 2012 however he managed to return but played sporadic matches for Stambridge United, including a start in a County Cup Final.

Towards the back end of his third year at university, in 2013, he started playing at Catholic United again, for the reserve team who were pushing for a promotion.

In 2014 he was brought back into the first team by then manager, James Paviour and has been a stalwart in the first team ever since.
