Catholic United Reserves have progressed into Round 4 in the Essex Premier Cup with an impressive 2-0 victory against Harold Wood.
First half goals from Michael Clark and Zac Wing were enough to secure the victory, in a game where United created the better of the chances and limited Harold Wood to few opportunities in the game.
Before the first goal, United had three big chances to take the lead. Manager Eamonn Kearney stated "I always feel we have the ability to create good chances throughout the game and if there’s one criticism is that we have to be more clinical in front of goal."
He continued "more pleasing, was the clean sheet and the shape we kept to limit the opposition to a handful of chances but there wasn’t much to test Owen, other than one very good he made in the first half."
"We are delighted with the result first are foremost but to put in such a commanding performance shows the progress the squad keeps making. We have spoken about wanting to test ourselves against the best teams at this level and that is what the Essex Premier Cup allows. We will now host Lymore Gardens in the last 16 as we look to keep progressing through the rounds of the cup before the open draw, and that’s where this club needs to be."
